A Counter-Terrorism Officer announced on Tuesday, that the self-proclaimed Islamic State group executed seven civilians for collaborating with security forces, east of Mosul.
Major Ali Mohsen, in a brief statement, said, “Members of the Islamic State group executed seven civilians on charges of collaboration with Iraqi security forces in al-Mohandessin area, east of Mosul.”
“The terrorist group transferred the civilians’ bodies to the forensic medicine department in Mosul,” Mohsen added.
Earlier today, Human Rights Watch condemned Islamic State militants’ execution of 13 people in Iraqi villages after a local uprising to drive the group out in October.
The executions took place in the neighboring villages of al-Hud and al-Lazzagah (50 kilometers south of Mosul), following local attempts to expel IS fighters who controlled the villages.
