Iraq sentenced seven ISIS terrorist group members to death

An Iraqi court on Monday sentenced seven individuals to death over their membership to the Islamic State (IS) and crimes against civilians.

“Seven IS leaders were handed down death sentences as they were convicted of killing 200 civilian people in Nineveh,” judge Mohamed al-Badrani of the Nineveh Criminal Court was quoted by al-Sabah newspaper.

The crimes had taken place after the extremist group took over Mosul and a vast Iraqi territory back in 2014, as reported by Iraqi News.

According to Badrani, the court is now working on the cases of 400 other IS jihadists arrested of late.
